Everything you need to know about backlog certificates: What they are, how you can get one and if you need one.

Backlog certificates guide: The what, how, and whether – answered

Applying abroad is a tedious task to some. Why? Because of the amount of research you have to put into it. And There is so much paperwork to do.

You are in luck because we have made one step of the process easy for you: the backlog certificate.

 What is a Backlog Certificate?

A backlog certificate is a document that attests to the number of backlogs you have till date cleared and uncleared.

In other words, it shows records of any exams that you have not passed in the first attempt.

To universities abroad, it serves as a supporting document for an academic transcript that is given out by your university or school.

Some colleges abroad might ask you for a no backlog certificate to attest that you have no backlogs.

In this article you will learn:

  • Why it is needed
  • Procedure to get a backlog certificate
  • Backlog and no backlog certificate format
  • Backlog and no backlog application format

Why is a Backlog Certificate Important for Studying?

A backlog certificate must be submitted with other application-supporting materials such as academic transcripts, LORs, SOPs, test results, your CV, etc. Here is why you need it for studying abroad.
  • Most universities abroad do not accept students with active backlogs.
  • Your academic history and the status of your backlogs are verified by a backlog certificate.
  • Clarifying the procedure for calculating backlogs is also helpful. The number of subjects is used by universities in the US, UK, and Canada to calculate backlogs. So, Number of Attempts ≠ Number of Backlogs. The number of attempts and backlogs are equal in Australia and Germany. So, if you had to re-attend the exam four times, the number of backlogs will also be counted as four. Number of Attempts = Number of Backlogs
  • A backlog certificate aids universities in a fair assessment of a student’s academic progress.

Procedure to Obtain Backlog Certificate

The next question is, ‘how to get a backlog certificate?’

Simply put, you must submit a backlog certificate application to the university you graduated from.

To minimize any delays, make sure you provide accurate information while completing the backlog certificate application.

The majority of Indian universities give students backlog certificates and are aware of this criterion for admission to foreign universities. To get a backlog certificate or even a no backlog certificate from the university, you need to submit a formal application.

In rare cases, the college might not know about this process. Hence, you may encounter difficulties in receiving your certificates.

In that case, contact the university where you are applying and ask them to send a letter requesting a backlog/no backlog certificate from your university. This issue generally occurs when there are zero backlog certificates.

If you are still in doubt, get in touch with peers and alumni and understand how they received their certificate. Try reaching out to them through offline mediums. If that doesn’t work, you can always go online. It’s simpler.

Log into SelectRight. The platform can connect you with mentors who can provide valuable guidance. These mentors are either alumni or current students of the university you want to attend.

FAQs about Backlog certificates

Do all colleges abroad ask for a backlog certificate?

Not all colleges require a certificate of backlog. The most prestigious colleges typically seek out applicants with a strong academic background.

Since your academic transcripts will show that you have no backlogs, the majority of universities do not require a no backlog certificate. The no backlog certificate is typically common in universities in Australia and New Zealand.

What should I do if I have backlogs?

Some colleges will not accept students with backlogs. However, students with backlogs may be chosen by universities that give standardized test scores a lot of weight. Your test results must be higher than the requirements of the university for that.

Make sure you do extensive research on colleges that accept students with backlogs. Universities may set a limit on the total number of backlogs when requesting a backlog certificate. When applying, you must pay close attention to these points.

Focus on eligibility tests, extracurricular activities, and social work, to make up for your backlogs.

If you have backlogs due to Covid-19, get in touch with your admissions office. Many colleges have waived off the no-backlogs rule for the pandemic batches.

How do I find universities that accept students with backlogs?

Take the help of online platforms. For example, SelectRight  uses 6 million data points across 10,000+ STEM, CS & MBA programs to give you transparent and unbiased recommendations.

Do German Universities Accept Backlogs?

Although the majority of prestigious colleges in Germany favor applicants without backlogs, many of them accept them.

Most  German colleges that accept backlogs will accept up to five backlogs. However, applications with more than five backlogs are only approved at the admissions offices’ discretion. Also, the majority of German universities only accept students with a maximum of 10 backlogs.

Do UK universities accept backlogs?

The best thing about most UK institutions is that students can try their luck even if they have 15 unfinished classes.

For this, they must have a strong GRE score, an IELTS score of at least 6.0 and a good academic profile.

Note – Even if your GRE or IELTS scores are great, getting into the top universities with backlogs is hard.

Do backlogs affect student visa approval?

No. Backlogs do not directly affect your chances of getting a student visa. Student visa approval mainly depends on getting accepted by a university.

Since chances of getting accepted come down because of backlogs, it indirectly affects student visa approval.

Factors Considered by Canada Universities Accepting Backlogs

If you have backlogs and are planning on applying to a college in Canada, you should learn about the other factors that decide the fate of your application. The factors include,

1.Your Academic Performance

Although backlogs are a key factor influencing your college application, overall academic performance matters more. It is the best measure of a college applicant’s capacity and ability to complete the programme. Thus, a good academic record and a high GPA are crucial factors that decide the result of your candidature.

2.The Subjects with Backlogs

The subjects with backlogs matter more than the number of backlogs. Colleges prefer students with good performance in the subject the programme offers. Thus, if you have a backlog in one of the core subjects, your chance of getting admission might be low. If you do not have backlogs in your core subject and have a good track record, you do not have to worry about backlogs in other subjects.

3.Number Of Attempts You Took to Clear the Backlog

The number of attempts to clear a backlog matters more than the number of backlogs you had. Multiple attempts to clear a single backlog show that you lack interest, and no college wants that in an applicant.

4.Backlog Status During Submission of Application

Students with active backlogs will find their applications rejected at major institutions. Thus, a backlog certificate with status marked as clear is recommended. It matters more that you’ve cleared your backlogs when compared to the number of backlogs you had. People can have backlogs for a variety of reasons, and most of them are acceptable.

5.Reason Behind Backlog

Backlogs can be an effect of either absenteeism or low grades. If you were absent because of an illness, you would have to provide proof, such as a medical certificate, to the university. Other reasons for being absent may include travelling for an acceptable reason, like moving to a different country or state. In such cases, the student must provide the same in writing. These might help the universities make better decisions.

If your backlogs result from an external reason, the university might be open to discussing your candidature. Some common external reasons include traumatic loss and bad psychological health. When you provide this in writing and get good grades in clearing the backlog, the university will consider your application disregarding the backlog.

Does Backlogs Affect Canada Visa?

To apply for a student visa to study in Canada, you must submit proof that a Canadian university has offered you admission to a programme they offer. If you can find a university that accepts backlogs, go through the application process and land an admission, there will be no issue in obtaining a visa to study abroad.

Although, no one can say that you will get the visa since it also depends on other factors. You will have to secure the required funds, score the required marks in language proficiency tests, etc.

How Do I Build a Good Application Even with Backlogs?

Do not let the backlogs demotivate you. By now, you know that some universities in Canada accept students who have had backlogs. And there are numerous acceptable reasons behind the backlog.

To increase your probability of obtaining admission, you must put together a strong application. This process will take some time and effort. You should put all your efforts into standardised tests and score high marks since they are a crucial deciding factor.

You can use your statement of purpose to showcase your passion for the course and demonstrate how you’ll be a perfect fit for the institution. You should also address your backlogs, honestly explaining your case and its reasons.

Do universities in Canada accept active backlogs?

No, Canadian universities do not admit students who have active backlogs. Only backlogs that have been cleared before the application is submitted are accepted.

Do all universities in Canada accept applicants with backlogs?

No, not all universities accept applicants with backlogs. There are very few institutions that do so. Make sure you read the whole article and check for other universities that accept students with backlogs before you make a decision.

Are there other factors besides backlogs that decide the fate of an application?

Yes, numerous factors decide if you’ll get admitted to a programme or not. All such factors are discussed in this article, but here’s a list of factors that affect your candidature,

  • Your academic performance
  • The subjects with backlogs
  • Number of attempts you took to clear the backlog
  • Backlog status during submission of application
  • Reasons behind backlog

How many backlogs are accepted by Canadian universities?

The number of backlogs accepted by Canadian universities varies based on the kind of programme you studied, the subjects with backlogs and the duration of the programme you have backlogs in. It also varies between institutions.

Are backlogs important in university applications?

The subjects with backlogs play a major part in accepting your application to Canadian universities. Universities will look for applicants with a strong academic performance and commitment to complete a programme once enrolled. Backlogs and your commitment toward clearing them help universities judge your potential and ability.

Tips to clear backlogs

Clearing a backlog can lead students into panic mode. With these tips, you could clear your backlog with ease.

  1. Remain calm: It’s natural to want to beat yourself up for not clearing an exam. However, you’re only going to exhaust yourself this way mentally. Stay focused on the present situation, tell yourself that you can do this, take a few deep breaths, and take control of your mind.
  2. Create a study schedule: By this, we mean a realistic one. Sometimes you might get ahead of yourself and bite off more than you can chew. Ensure you set realistic goals so that you can achieve them. We recommend taking short breaks between study sessions so you don’t burn yourself out. Schedule your sessions so that you don’t study longer than 2 hours at a stretch.
  3. Stay organized: Your surroundings often reflect your state of mind and vice versa. If you create a more organized environment for yourself, you genuinely feel like studying as well. Keep every study material in one place so you don’t waste time looking for them when you should be studying.
  4. Reach out to your teacher: Your teacher could give you some pointers and tips so you can ace your test. There’s no shame in reaching out for help when you really need it!
  5. Find a quiet study space: Look for a distraction-free study environment. It’s easy to get caught up with other things when you’re studying a subject you’re not interested in. But we know this could really get in the way of you clearing your backlog.
  6. Keep your future in mind while studying: Although many Australian universities accept backlogs, what if your dream university hesitates to accept you because of your academic record? Keep this in mind so you can clear your exam on the second attempt.

  1. Figure out how you learn best: Some learn best visually, while some find it helpful to ‘listen’ to their notes. You could create diagrams or notecards, read directly from a book, or listen via audio files; whatever works for you!
  2. Remain motivated: You might get overwhelmed when you study so much. And with the pressure of clearing a backlog, you might find it challenging to stay motivated. Do whatever you can to keep up the good spirit. You could get a tutor, study as a group, and exercise to improve your mood.

Other countries that accept backlogs

Now that you know of some Australian universities accepting backlogs, and have your answers to questions like “Is a backlog certificate necessary for masters in Australia?”, let’s look at a few more countries that accept backlogs. Before we dive in, relax, and know that despite your backlogs, you can still get accepted into universities belonging to other countries apart from Australia as well.

  1. Canada In Canada, you can find universities accepting at least 5 backlogs along with an average of at least 70% in your previous study examinations. If you’re applying for PG degree programs, universities may accept 7-8 backlogs, along with an average of at least 65% in your bachelors degree. If you have more than 12 backlogs, you could apply for PG diploma programs instead.
  2. New Zealand New Zealand’s universities usually accept a maximum of 5 backlogs. Although, some universities may accept students with more than 10-15 backlogs as well. To compensate for your backlogs, you could score well in your IELTS and show proof of extracurricular activities you’ve participated in.
  3. The US The universities in the US tend to be more strict. They usually prefer students who don’t have any backlogs. However, they do make exceptions sometimes and may accept it if you have a maximum of 5 backlogs. But this alone won’t do. You must also have a really good GRE score that ranges between 315-325 to compensate.
  4. The UK You’ll be happy to know that UK universities are absolutely fine accepting students with even 15 backlogs. But, an overall band of 6 in your IELTS exam is essential.
  5. Ireland Ireland’s universities tend to be strict about these things. They usually accept students with a maximum of 4-5 backlogs, and some may even just accept 2-3 backlogs. You don’t have to worry about your visa getting rejected on these grounds. As long as your university has accepted you, you can go ahead and continue with your university application.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.How do you explain a backlog in your Statement of Purpose?

Firstly, make sure you’re honest. Explain why the backlog happened and how you worked to clear it. Then, highlight your active participation in extracurricular activities, along with projects you’ve performed well at. End your SOP by explaining how serious you are about your academic goals.

2.Is absenteeism considered to be a backlog?

No, it isn’t. However, make sure your institute has marked an ‘Absent’ in the score column next to the exam you were absent for. If they mark a ‘Zero’ instead, that would be considered a backlog.

3.Do backlogs affect placements?

Not at all. Backlogs are common, but if the interviewing companies intimidate you and ask you questions particularly revolving around backlogs, be confident in your answer and state all the qualities that make you the unique, hard-working person you are.

4.How do I get a backlog certificate from my university?

It’s not a long process. You might just have to submit a written letter requesting your institute for the certificate.

5.Which countries accept most backlogs?

Although there are many Australian universities accepting backlogs, universities in the UK and New Zealand are seen to be more lenient with students who have backlogs.

MS in the US with Backlogs: List of US Universities Accepting Backlogs for MS in the USA

List of US Universities Accepting Backlogs for MS in the USA

Home to some of the world’s most admirable universities, the USA is unquestionably a popular study destination and an educational hotspot.

Thousands of international students apply to the USA every year for various courses and programs.

While most people believe that only students with excellent academic scores can apply to the US, let’s break this myth.

Many students study in the US with backlogs at the best universities.

A backlog has been considered a setback by many aspiring students, thus making them miss out on many opportunities.

But that’s not the case.

The USA educational system is opening up to students with backlogs, not making it a setback for students in building their careers.

While it is clear that backlogs don’t stop you from pursuing MS in the US, you will need a backlog certificate to get an admission.

A backlog certificate states the number of backlog papers and the number of attempts you made to clear your exam.

This certificate is to be submitted to your desired university while applying.

Furthermore, check out the list of US universities accepting backlogs and find out how many backlogs are allowed for MS in the USA.

List of US Universities Accepting Backlogs, Number of Backlogs Allowed for MS in the USA and the Application Process

Backlogs are simply caused by a student’s inability to pass an exam.

Other reasons, such as irregular attendance, or absence from an exam due to personal or health issues, may simply be marked as absent.

However, second attempts can easily clear backlogs, provided you work harder and remain focused.

Upon completion, a backlog certificate issued by the college/university will validate that you successfully completed the course.

Apart from this certificate, a few other factors allow students with backlogs to be considered for applications in the USA.

Some of the deciding conditions for students with backlogs in US universities are:

  • GPA/CGPA – Possessing a high GPA/CGPA will automatically act as a primary factor for assessment, regardless of your backlogs. To achieve a high CGPA despite your backlog, it is important to score well consistently, as you will be evaluated based on it.
  • Course or subject of backlog – The other important factor for admission is to clear your backlog soon. Especially if you wish to pursue the same subject or course that you failed earlier. However, the backlog will cause no harm if you apply to a different course.

Do clear your backlog to get admitted to the US university of your choice.

  • Time – The time taken to clear backlogs, such as a semester or the number of years and the number of attempts, is a crucial factor too. For instance, if you have a single backlog that was cleared in the first attempt can increase your chance of being accepted.
  • Status of backlog – The final condition during your admission is the number of active or inactive backlogs. A backlog certificate will indefinitely declare all related records. Some US universities do not accept active backlogs for applications.

It is necessary to mention here that prestigious USA universities, such as the Ivy League, do not accept students with active backlog status.

Hence, students must produce a no-backlogs certificate to make the admission process effortless.

How Many Backlogs Are Allowed for MS in the USA?

A master’s or MS in the US is a popular choice of study in the US. But, if you have backlogs, check out how many backlogs are allowed for MS in the US.

To study MS in the US with backlogs, a minimum of 5 backlogs to a maximum of 15 backlogs are allowed.

Do keep in mind that the educational sphere of the US is highly competitive; this is why it is not always the first choice for every university in the USA to accept backlogs.

Applying for MS in the US with Backlogs

15 backlogs is the maximum number of backlogs you are allowed to study MS in US universities.

While backlogs are a hindrance to admission abroad, a few factors compensate to help you get selected at the US university of your choice.

If you have a backlog, you need to amp your other skills wisely to make you worthy of an admission.

Some of the best ways to patch your backlogs with your excellence are

  • Participate in co-scholastic activities such as seminars, conferences, or any other competition.
  • Engage in any other extra-curricular activities such as volunteering, community service, educational clubs, hobbies and passion etc.
  • Succeeding in scoring a GRE score of 315 to 325 will considerably aid the student application process.

Despite your backlogs, outstanding GRE/GMAT scores increase your chances of getting selected at reputed universities.

A backlog will not hold you back if you are a candidate with an outstanding profile, impressive academic scores, personality, catchy communication skills, and leadership qualities.

The application process for a student with a backlog is similar to that of any other application. The only difference is your application is the highlight of your backlogs.

However, don’t hesitate to be honest in your application. This will help you defend your backlogs.

Hiding your backlogs during your application process will only raise questions in the future, leading to the rejection of your admission.

Even if your backlog might make you nervous, being honest and positive about your future is the best way to approach your career.

The mandatory documents for the application process for MS in the USA with backlogs include

  • Letter of Recommendation
  • GRE/GMAT scorecards
  • IELTS/TOEFL scorecards
  • Statement of Purpose

  • Proof of Funds
  • Backlogs clearance certificate

The important note to make here is that if you fail to clear your backlogs by the time of admission, the university will not issue the I20 form that will help you get a visa.

Following the list of transcripts that are to be arranged in advance, some advice can be heeded as preparation for personal interviews will take over after you’ve cleared the hurdles of your backlogs.

The university and visa interviews are the most important interviews to move abroad.

Your first impression is the last impression.

As you face these interviews, you will have to justify your backlogs. This is why you must prepare a solid response well ahead of the interview.

It is equally important to convince the interviewers of your seriousness in the field of academics.

Talk bout what caused your setbacks, how you have improved yourself and why you are fit for admission regardless of your backlogs.

Acknowledge any skills that decipher as an advantage and help impress the academic brains, spell that out to your interviewer.

While applying to countries like the USA, students need to note that the admission committee will look at more than just your academic scores.

Your entire student profile, as mentioned above, includes students’ interests in extracurricular activities and co-curricular activities.

It is of most importance that you stand out as a candidate and show your worthiness.

Your interviewer must feel that you will add value to the campus.

Our best advice to all aspiring applicants is to be exceptional and honest.

All You Need to Know about the New F1 visa rules for 2022

All You Need to Know about the New F1 visa rules for 2022

If you are planning to apply for an F1 student visa to fulfill your dream of studying in the US, you must first find out about the new F1 visa rules for 2022. Since the US continues to be one of the top destinations for Indian students, tens of thousands of student visa applications are submitted every year. The good news is that the response to F1 visa applications has been overwhelmingly positive, and the visa issued numbers are more or less back to their pre-pandemic levels, thanks to the high approval rates. In fact, between January and May of 2022, more than 14,600 F1 student visas were issued across the five US consulates in India. F1 visa new rules
Fresh interview slots opened up on June 26 for those who applied for student visas in the F, M, and J categories in an effort to arrive at the campus by the middle of August.

What is The F1 Visa and what are The New F1 Visa Rules in 2022?

International students who wish to study in the US can apply for either of the two categories of student visas based on the course they wish to pursue and the college or university they want to apply to. These two categories are – F visas and M visas.

Here’s a quick breakdown of each category:

New F1 visa rules 2022

The F1 Visa for academic students is a non-immigrant visa that lets international students enter the United States to study at colleges and universities that are certified by the SEVP or Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

The F1 visa is the most sought-after option for students who are seeking to pursue UG or PG courses in the US. Aspiring students can apply for this visa once an accredited institution accepts their application.

How long you can stay in the US with an F1 visa will be determined by the program, in which you have enrolled. The I-20 form that you will receive from your chosen university will include the expiration date for the program, and you will need to earn your degree within that time frame.

Updates Related to the F1 Visa New Rules 2022

Before we get into the new F1 visa rules for 2022, let’s touch on a few significant news and updates.

Last year, the US Embassy and the consulates in India opened student visa interviews fairly late on June 14 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By then, a large number of students had already received their I-20 documents from their respective universities in the US and were waiting for the interviews.

This year, however, the student visa interviews opened relatively early with the officials hoping to issue more than the record-breaking number of 62,000 visas that were issued last year.

The Embassy opened its first batch of interview slots in May for dates in June as well as the first half of July. On June 24, the US Embassy in India announced the opening of new interview slots for students who had I-20 forms and wanted to apply for visas in the F, M, and J categories.

Explaining the F1 Visa New Rules

The US Embassy recently proposed some changes to the visa application process. According to reports, the new F1 visa rules 2022 address two of the major problems that the embassy faced last year.

Firstly, their computer system had crashed due to the large number of visa applications submitted from India. Secondly, a large portion of the visa interview slots had been bought by people who weren’t actually genuine applicants.

Although the embassy received good and genuine applications the first half of the season, the second half was filled with applicants who were coming for a second or third time after having been rejected earlier.

Needless to say, the latter was unfair to genuine students who did not even get their first chance.

As per the F1 visa new rules, students who have already been refused once in the summer/spring of 2022 will not be able to get another visa interview this year. The US government has made some software changes to filter out candidates that have already been rejected.

The new F1 visa rules for 2022 also state that applicants should repeatedly check the US embassy website for interview dates, and they should schedule appointments after receiving the necessary documents from their chosen universities. No special timeline has been announced for them.

Besides the new F1 visa rules in 2022, the visa interview waiver scheme has benefitted many Indian students. The scheme, authorized by the US Department of State, waives in-person interview requirements for some applicants as well as their qualifying derivatives in several non-immigrant visa classifications including the F1 student visa.

Indian students who wish to travel back home to visit families are using the visa waiver drop box. The scheme also aims to make it easier for the parents of Indian students to visit their children in the US.

Is the F1 Visa Right for You as Per the New F1 visa rules 2022?

The new F1 visa rules 2022 do not necessarily affect your eligibility for the visa, and nor do they determine whether the F1 visa is right for you. To know if you should apply for the F1 student visa, you should consider the following.

As we have shown you above, the F category of student visa is applicable to students who want to pursue specific courses or programs under certain institutions. If you are in the initial stages of planning your higher studies in the US, chances are you have not applied to any college or university yet. You may not even be sure about which course or program you want to pursue.

  • Get admission into a SEVP-certified college or university before submitting the visa application.

  • Complete the DS-160 visa application.
  • Submit the I-20 form, which you will receive after being accepted by the institution, with your F1 visa application.

  • A photo of yourself that you intend to use for your visa.
  • School transcripts as well as official test scores mentioned on your college/university application.
  • Diploma (if applicable).
  • Bank statements or other proof of funds.

The consular officer will evaluate these documents, and they may also request additional documents as per the new F1 visa rules 2022. These might include:

  • Standardized test scores that your chosen college or university requires.
  • Academic records including degrees, transcripts, diplomas, or certificates from institutions you have attended.
  • Proof of your intent to leave the US once your course or program is completed.
  • Statements that prove your ability to fulfill all financial obligations including living, travel, and educational costs.

Make sure to carry these additional documents when you go for the interview.

Does a Full Scholarship Mean Guaranteed F1 Student Visa?

Simply put, getting a full scholarship does not guarantee an F1 student visa, but it might make the chance of approval higher.

Providing proof of funds is a crucial step in the visa application process, and if you don’t have the required sum in your bank account, a scholarship will certainly help.

What Is An Educational Loan Sanction Letter And How To Get It?

What Is An Educational Loan Sanction Letter And How To Get It?

Getting an education loan to study abroad entails collecting numerous documents, moving across counters and reading mundane details for the loan to be approved!

An education loan sanction letter is a formal document that notifies the approval of a student loan.

Once the student submits the application for an education loan and the pertinent documents an education loan sanction letter is issued after the verification and authorisation of the same.

It is an acknowledgement the borrower receives after successfully getting a loan or acts as a conditional financial competence letter.

The educational loan sanction letter is a critical document to get admission abroad.

So, let’s take a deeper look at an education loan sanction letter and how to obtain one without any hassle.

Why Do You Need An Education Loan Sanction Letter?

The education loan sanction letter is like a preface to a book consisting of all the pertinent information.

It contains all of the relevant information about the loan application, such as the loan amount, name, loan tenure, interest rate, margin percentage, repayment period, terms and conditions, etc.

The student receives an education loan sanction letter via mail or as a hard copy.

Types of Education Loan Sanction Letter

Education loan for study abroad has three distinct types of sanction letters as mentioned below:

Education Loan Sanction Letter

It’s an official document giving information about the approval of one’s education loan application.

Following that, the lender approves the loan amount, which is then deposited into the applicant’s account or is given as a direct fee payment to the university.

Pre-Approved Sanction Letter

Pre-approved sanction letter is required for an education loan to study abroad in certain countries like Canada. Germany etc.

A pre-approved sanction letter is a provisional education loan sanction letter issued to a borrower prior to securing university admission.

This document is used to demonstrate financial support during the admissions process and, in some cases, the visa application process.

After receiving their standardized test results, students can apply for instant approval for an education loan to study abroad.

This is specific to institutions where students are required to show their financial ability to pay for their education to secure admission.

Some of the countries that require pre-approved sanction letters are as follows:

● Students must provide documentation of financial assistance in order to obtain a Canadian study visa, with a minimum fund requirement of CAN$ 10,000.

● European nations like Germany, the United Kingdom and also the United States of America have similar conditions for education.

In-Principle Sanction Letter

A tentative sanction letter sent by the bank to the borrower is known as an in-principle sanction letter.

It specifies a specific loan amount that will be granted to a student if he or she is accepted at a specific university. It is primarily required for US universities.

While US universities require the student to demonstrate their financial competence in order to obtain an I-20, the Bank requires the applicant to show the university an I-20 in order to confirm the loan offer.

One receives an in-principle sanction letter in such a situation.

How to Get an Education Loan Sanction Letter?

The procedure for seeking a letter of approval for an education loan is simple and clear.

To avoid rejection of your education loan for study abroad and the sanction letter,

it is necessary to cross-check the documents and information you provide.

The following three steps must be followed for the education loan sanction letter:

● Fill out the education loan application form with accurate information.

Documents Required For Education Loan Sanction Letter

An education loan sanction letter is issued only after the submission and authorisation of the documents.

As the process goes, the below-listed documents are verified by the bank authorities for an education loan to study abroad:

Note: An education loan co-applicant is an additional borrower for the primary applicant’s education loan. They are in charge of paying back the student loan if the applicant fails to repay it.
