But, then? You get surrounded with doubts about whether or not it is worth making this huge financial decision.

These reasons will help you figure out why MBA in USA for Indian students is a good option.

1. Top-ranking B-Schools

What are the first five things you check about a school before finalizing it?

Is ‘ranking’ one of those five things? If yes, great. If not, still great, because an institute is awarded a ranking based on its overall performance.

So, directly or indirectly, the ranking does become an important factor in choosing a school.

But why are we talking about ranking here? Here’s why.

If you check the QS World University Rankings 2022 for Global MBA, you would see that about 40% of the listed B-schools are from the US. Stanford Graduate School of Business takes the first position with 94.2 overall scores, followed by Harvard B-School and Penn, Wharton.

But, the QS ranking is not the only testament to the excellence of these schools. As per the latest THE World University Rankings 2022: Business and Economics, US universities have scored the top spots.

  • Will I be able to pay back my student loans?
  • Will my salary package after my MBA be worth the financial investment in the course?
  • Am I making a financial mistake or a great investment?

Having all these questions is natural. So, let’s answer them for you.

report by Statistica on ROI for top B-Schools in the US shows the numbers after 5 years of graduation. And you are going to love the numbers. The top schools can have an ROI as high as $90,000.

US Student Visa: The US Government To Give Priority To Student Visa

The US Government To Give Priority To Student Visa

US Student Visa

USA will provide preference to the US student visa(s). This is because the country estimates a heavy rush in the authorization application with the relaxation of travel restraints for vaccinated passengers.

In an official statement, “The appointments for the visa will be made available from November 1. Priority will be given to US student visas,” US Consul General to Kolkata, Melinda Pavek, said on the sidelines of an interactive session with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC)

At the time of the statement, she further highlighted that the US has already issued 62,000 US student visas to Indians this year. And that with the US presidential proclamation of travel ban coming to an end on November 8, all types of visa applications will become eligible.

Earlier, the US had announced the lifting of travel curbs on India from November 8. These Covid-19 restrictions were first imposed at the beginning of 2020 with the onset of the global pandemic.

The accounting period for a US visa for various purposes like work, business and studies are between September of a year to August the following year, officials said.

It was also noted that except for a brief period, US student visa and emergency visas were not closed.
From November 8, all types of visas will be given, and a heavy wave of visa applications is expected. And with the spring intake set to start, there could be a big surge in US Student Visa applications.

Patton International senior official, Preeyam Bhudhia said Indo-US trade would expand by raising the travel limitations.

Bilateral trade between the two countries had already improved by 50 per cent till August. It is expected to reach the pre-COVID level of 2019 in the current year, ICC officials said.

Joe Biden Announces ‘Quad Fellowship’ For STEM Career In The US

Quad Fellowship program For STEM

Last month, during the first in-person meeting of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, US President Joe Biden unveiled a new “Quad Fellowship program For STEM”. The program would let students from the Quad countries pursue higher studies and advanced degrees in “STEM programs” in the United States.

Biden hosted the leaders of the four countries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the White House. Along with Modi, Australian prime minister Scott Morrison and Japan’s Yoshihide Suga were also present at the meeting.

In Biden’s official statement, he said, “Today, we are launching a new Quad fellowship for students from each of our Quad countries to pursue advanced degrees in leading STEM programs here in the United States, representing an investment in the leaders, innovators, and pioneers of tomorrow.”

Biden further added, “When we met six months ago, we made concrete commitments to shared and positive agenda for a free and open Indo-Pacific. Today I am proud to say that we are making excellent progress.”

The Quad member countries, in addition to the US, are India, Japan, and Australia. Thanks to the Quad Fellowship program For STEM, students from these countries will now have better opportunities to pursue their dream careers in the United States in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, a combination more popularly known as STEM.

Sponsored by private donors, 25 students from each of the four Quad countries will be selected to pursue Master’s and post-doctoral degrees in STEM fields at leading US universities every year.

More details on how and when to apply to the Quad Fellowship program For STEM are yet to be released.

12-10 months: Tests

Once you’ve got a basic understanding of the admission process, prepare for the required admission tests like GRE/GMAT and language tests like IELTS and TOEFL.

11-8 months: Apply

Apply to your shortlisted universities and have all the necessary items and documents while applying like your resume, test scores, Statement Of Purpose (SOP), Letter(s) Of Recommendation (LOR), application fees etc.

While researching, look for when the application process begins for the spring intake in USA.

8-5 months: Acceptance letters and interviews

Once you get a reply from the college or university you have applied to, revert them as soon as you can. The spring intake in USA typically has a small class size. So timely response is crucial.

And inform your college about your decision if you get an acceptance letter.

Keep track of deadlines for the same.

Also, do keep in mind you will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit to confirm the admission.

4-2 months: Finances and VISA

After you are accepted by a university, you would need to plan your finances.

Look for US Scholarships for international students and also apply for education loans (if needed).

Apply for the student VISA and make sure you fulfil all the requirements of a US Study VISA.

2-1 months: Book your tickets

While booking your flight, look for student discounts and connect with other international or Indian students travelling to the US.
